Compton Cedar Compost Bin

If you love gardening, practically nothing feeds your plants quite as well as compost from your very own garden and kitchen waste, and it's also absolutely free. Generally, however, a heap of decaying vegetation is  not really the most appealing of garden features. However, when housed in one of our good-looking Compton cedar compost bins, the compost heap looks very well dressed.
The Compton Compost bin is hand crafted in our  own Shropshire country workshops from rot-resistant cedar. The four corners have 7,5cm square posts, together with 2,5cm thick louvered slats connecting each post. The louvers permit air to circulate through the compost, and the lowest slat on each side is removable to facilitate the simple harvesting of your finished compost.

It is difficult to make mistakes  while creating compost. Having said that, it really is nice to have a  couple of tips to get going in the right direction. Never start off too small, the process really should be reasonably substantial in order  for the process to occur. So if you are using the Hatton cedar compost bin, as an example, a layer of about twenty centimetres depth should be adequate to start with.
Always be certain your compost is damp. There is nothing easier than failing to remember that the compost bin contains an active process, consequently check your compost bin, or bins,  on a regular basis, specifically during warm dry periods of weather.

enhancing soil fertility, and stimulating the creation of the plants root systems.
Compost also introduces organic matter providing food for the micro-organisms, so they in turn will  keep the soil in a healthy, balanced condition  by producing Nitrogen, potassium, and also phosphorus.

Work with a combination of diverse materials. Just one clump of grass clippings will stick together and be in your garden for year upon year. But if you add a few leaves, some water, air and also heat;  the grass begins to break down rapidly. At the same time, the various textures and  nutrients that a variety of plants will create, help develop pest and disease resistance within your plants.
One of nature's most effective mulches and amendments is compost. You get it more or less without cost and as soon as you have it is not necessary to use commercial fertilizers. It really is excellent stuff, loosening clay soil whilst helping sandy soil to retain water, as well as
